Protecting Wellbeing

We promote a healthy lifestyle in a safe, secure environment. Each Nursery has a large purpose-built outdoor play space as well as award-winning indoor learning environments. Nutritionally balanced by a dietitian, our award-winning meals are cooked freshly on site every day. We teach children the skills they need to regulate their own behaviour and to assess risk for themselves.

Bonfire Night

The children have had a wonderful time investigating different media to create their own fireworks. They have learnt about how to keep safe when watching the fireworks, around a bonfire and when using sparklers. The children also reminded each other that the firefighters will come and help if needed. The younger children have also been watching videos of fireworks and listening to the different noises.

This week we have been marking Remembrance Day with the children

This two-minute animation from CBeebies, titled ‘Poppies’, is a gentle introduction for younger children to Remembrance and Armistice Day.

The BAFTA-nominated film follows a rabbit playing in a meadow that gradually becomes a First World War battlefield.

Outdoor Learning National Finalists

Elmscot Broussa has been shortlisted as a finalist for their National Outdoor Learning Award. Spending plenty of time outdoors is vital for children’s wellbeing, and in these difficult times, getting plenty of fresh air is more important than ever. We spend much of our time here at Broussa outdoors – to play, discover and to learn. We are therefore thrilled to have been recognised by NMT.

Nursery Practitioner National Finalist

Leann Banks at Elmscot Poppies has been shortlisted as a finalist for their Individual Practitioner Award, and as a much loved team member Poppies are thrilled at the recognition for her as amongst the very best practitioners nationally.
