Elmscot Broussa Parent
Broussa Day Nursery has provided both my children with a warm, nurturing environment where they feel confident to explore, make relationships and enjoy their activities. Since they started, last Summer Annette and Rebecca have welcomed them and got to know their individual personalities very well.
Recently William and Charlie spent some time at Hale Day Nursery due to the Covid lockdown. They were fully supported with this transition and settled well due to the trust that they have in their key workers. At a time when everything was uncertain, communication with parents was excellent and, by working in partnership, the children managed the change very well.
When the time came to return to Broussa, the boys were equally happy to see familiar faces again. Despite this having been a particularly challenging time, the committed members of staff, have ensured not only that health and safety is maintained with a comprehensive risk assessment that has been shared with parents, but also that the children’s progress remains prioritised.
William has come home, excited to talk about rhyming words and initial sounds. He is proud to start forming letters and interested in words and signs that he sees in the environment. He even received a thank you letter from Buckingham Palace, when his card for the Queen had been posted by a member of staff in Owl Room.
Preparation for school has been included in the children’s learning with ideas for parents to be working on at home, uniform days, PE week and the chance to say goodbye to their friends during a wonderful graduation ceremony. This has meant that William is excited to start school and has asked lots of questions about the classroom, his uniform and which friends will go with him. Charlie’s language also continues to develop with more complex vocabulary, “it’s the owl first, not the reindeer”. He readily engages in pretend play and is developing his understanding of his feelings, using words such as sad, tired and hungry. Charlie is also starting to communicate when, “William not sharing”.
Myself and my husband could not be happier with the provision provided by Broussa and would recommend it to anyone looking for a nursery place. We are very grateful to all the members of staff for their continued support and exceptional hard work.”
