Elmscot Group Teacher Becomes Finalist at Nursery World Awards 2018

At this year’s prestigious Nursery World Awards, Stephanie Green of Woodlands Day Nursery in Timperley was a finalist for the highly coveted Early Years Teacher of the Year.

The annual awards ceremony and gala dinner was held on Saturday 22nd September 2018 at The Brewery, London. Over 500 guests from childcare settings across the country were welcomed to the venue with drinks on arrival, followed by a three-course meal before the awards ceremony took place.

Established in 2006, Woodlands Day Nursery is part of the Elmscot Group of nurseries based in Hale, Cheshire. This setting has been rated Outstanding by Ofsted and benefits from a beautiful outside space surrounded by open fields.

Danielle Riley, Nursery Manager at Woodlands Day Nursery joined Stephanie at the event. Director, Dee McKenzie was also attending to show support alongside Rachael Lyons, Group Operations Manager and Jenna Holloway, Manager at Elmscot Day Nursery (Nantwich).

Stephanie was delighted to be nominated for the award, saying: “Nursery World is always held in high regard and is very influential within the childcare sector, so I am honoured to be a finalist.

“It’s extremely flattering to receive recognition and appreciation from my manager and team for doing something I enjoy so much.”

It was an easy decision to put Stephanie forward for the award, according to her manager, Danielle.

“I wanted her to know she was recognised and to be acknowledged for being ‘inspiring’. As I watch her daily practice, she motivates practitioners, constantly shares her experiences and creates endless, challenging learning opportunities and environments that excite, engage and support children phenomenally.

“I was delighted that Stephanie was shortlisted by Nursery World for this wonderful award. Stephanie is an integral part of Team Woodlands, and is most certainly an Early Years Teacher to be proud of.

“Winning was never a focus for me when nominating Stephanie and now she has returned as a finalist, I’m sure will continue to inspire our team and children daily.”

Dee McKenzie, Director of Elmscot Group added: “We are always so proud whenever any member of our teams is nominated for an award. It shows the rest of the team really value their work and they are continuing to provide the best care and support, which is something that we strive for.”

“We’d like to congratulate Stephanie on becoming a finalist for Early Years Teacher of the Year – a much deserved recognition for her hard work and dedication to quality childcare.”
